LFE12 Subwoofer

The LFE12 Subwoofer is designed to provide accurate, extended low-frequency performance for both multichannel and stereo Footprint® monitoring systems. With a frequency response extending down to 17 Hz, the LFE12 delivers the depth, power, and control required for critical monitoring, mixing, composing, and playback.

The LFE12 incorporates Barefoot Sound’s signature Dual-Force™ technology, utilizing two opposing 12-inch woofers with neodymium motors operating in phase. This force-cancelling configuration minimizes cabinet vibration at the source, allowing the system to deliver clean, controlled low-frequency extension with excellent definition and transient response.

The sealed cabinet incorporates construction techniques designed to enhance rigidity and reduce unwanted resonance. A textured Footprint Gray polyester coating provides a durable, modern, professional finish, while the cabinet’s substantial mass contributes to greater stability and performance integrity.

Powered by 1400 watts of amplification, the LFE12 provides the output and low-frequency extension required for a dedicated LFE channel in 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos, and other multichannel and immersive monitoring environments. A dedicated LFE input features selectable 80 Hz and 120 Hz low-pass filter settings, while a 0 dB / +10 dB gain switch and stepped input level control provide precise system integration.

For stereo systems, dual BOOST inputs with full-bandwidth THRU outputs allow the LFE12 to extend the low-frequency performance of Footprint Series monitors. Selectable 60 Hz and 80 Hz BOOST filter settings provide additional low-frequency support and flexibility when integrating the LFE12 into different monitoring configurations.

A dual-switch foot controller provides independent muting of the LFE and BOOST inputs for quick comparison and monitoring control. Balanced XLR connectivity and a USB-C factory calibration port complete the LFE12’s comprehensive integration options.

Whether serving as the dedicated low-frequency effects channel in an immersive monitoring environment or extending the low-frequency range of a stereo Footprint system, the LFE12 delivers precise, powerful, and controlled bass designed to complement the accuracy and performance of Barefoot Sound monitors.

At the core of the LFE12 is Barefoot Sound’s signature Dual-Force™ technology, utilizing two opposing 12-inch aluminum-cone woofers with powerful neodymium motor structures.

The drivers operate together in phase to produce low-frequency energy, while their mechanical forces act in opposite directions. As each woofer moves outward, the other moves outward in the opposite direction, effectively cancelling much of the mechanical force that would otherwise be transferred to the enclosure.

This force-cancelling design minimizes cabinet movement and unwanted vibration, creating a more stable platform for accurate low-frequency reproduction.

The result is bass that extends deep with tremendous output while remaining tight, fast, and controlled.
